The Booty Bio-Mechanix™ workshop breaks twerking down into five core techniques, each designed to develop control, strength, and body awareness in the hips and glutes.

Part 1 — Foundations of Booty Bio-Mechanix

The Bio-Mechanix of the Booty

Learn the basic anatomy of the hips and how the muscles of the pelvis work together.

You’ll explore:

• which muscles control adduction and abduction
• which muscles act as stabilizers
• why understanding the difference matters for controlled movement

Specific isolation exercises are included to help you develop the ability to activate and communicate with these muscles, building the foundation for a proper twerk.

Tilt Technique — “Pop, Lock & Drop”

This is one of the most common techniques used in twerking.

The movement relies on:

• flexible hip flexors
• mobility in the lower back
• strong abdominal engagement

Isolation drills and Pilates-based exercises establish the ability to separate hip movement from the rest of the body, strengthen the pelvic floor, and create sharp, precise movement.

Part 2 — Advanced Booty Control

Contraction Technique — “Booty Bounce”

This technique takes glute isolation to the next level.

You’ll explore several hip joint geometries that allow you to gain control over contracting each side of the hips and glutes independently.

With focused awareness and practice, this technique brings the squeeze and bounce into your twerk practice.

Femoral Rotation — “Booty Clap”

This technique focuses on movement initiated through the legs.

Exercises included in this section increase hip range of motion and flexibility while improving isolation and agility in the hips.

This is the technique most often seen when performing the booty clap.

Vibration Technique — “Shake It”

The shakes and shimmies seen in advanced twerk movement are created through extreme muscular tension and rapid muscle firing.

Using Pilates-inspired firming tension exercises, you’ll learn how to connect to the muscles responsible for vibration and develop the coordination required for rapid muscle activation.

This is one of the most advanced elements of twerking and often takes time to master.
